About the role
Overview
EY South Africa is looking for a commercially focused Cyber Security Senior Manager to support the growth of our Cyber Security practice. This role is primarily client-facing and focused on building relationships, winning new work, expanding existing accounts, and leading strategic cybersecurity engagements.
The successful candidate must be comfortable operating at executive level and working directly with CIOs, CISOs, technology executives, risk leaders and boards. We are looking for someone who can combine strong consulting capability with practical cybersecurity experience and a proven ability to generate revenue and build long-term client relationships.
What We Are Looking For
10–15+ years cybersecurity experience.
Approximately 5–10 years operating at Senior Manager level or equivalent.
Strong cybersecurity consulting background.
Proven ability to identify, shape and close new opportunities.
Demonstrated experience growing existing client accounts.
Experience leading large cybersecurity transformation programmes.
Strong executive stakeholder management and communication skills.
Experience managing multidisciplinary delivery teams.
Ability to contribute to practice growth, talent development and thought leadership.
Preferred Technical Background
Experience across several of the following areas:
Cybersecurity Strategy and Governance
Cloud Security
Security Architecture
Cyber Risk Management
Security Operations and SOC Transformation
Identity and Access Management
Vulnerability Management
Threat Exposure Management
Cyber Resilience
Regulatory Compliance
AI Security
Cyber for AI and AI for Cyber
Mandatory Requirements
CISSP certification.
CISM certification.
AI-related certification or demonstrable experience in AI security, AI governance, AI risk management, or AI-enabled cyber transformation.
Proven consulting and business development experience.
Strong client-facing and commercial capability.
Ideal Requirements
CCSP certification.
Microsoft Security certifications (SC-100, SC-200, AZ-500).
AWS Security certification.
TOGAF, SABSA or ISO 27001 qualifications.
Degree or postgraduate qualification preferred but not mandatory.
